The Center for Courage & Renewal’s
Soul of Aging Discipleship
EDOT and DWTX Leadership Development 2027

May 3-6, 2027 at Mustang Island
“A powerful formational opportunity for a wonderful discipleship model focused on the spiritual journey of aging and senior adults.”
The Offices of Formation in the Diocese of Texas and the Diocese of West Texas hosted a leadership training in partnership with the Center for Courage & Renewal.
Is your community looking to offer aging and senior adult Christian formation and discipleship?
If not…why not?
How are you equipping and empowering Elders in your community?
This leadership development opportunity focuses on a deeply formational process of learning to lead the Soul of Aging model using Circles of Trust principles as developed by Parker J. Palmer, and it specifically prepares leaders to engage in discipleship with senior adults in their congregations and communities through building capacity as Christian practitioners and skillful facilitators.

We are a Community of Practice
This isn’t your typical “one and done” formation gathering. we are a community of practice, and our purpose is to equip skillful facilitators, build the capacity of formation leaders, and keep them connected while they empower other leaders around them through discipleship practices.
- We will gather online during Lent 2027 each Monday at Noon for group formation
- Then, we will gather for an in-person Soul of Aging Institute at Mustang Island, May 3-6, 2027
- Then, we will continue gathering online throughout the year as we practice together in community
When you register, you are joining a long-term Living and Learning Community, which is a community of discipleship practice that is living and learning into the shape of Jesus’s life and teachings…together
