Formation Pro Tip

Looking for a formation model? Check out Jesus-shaped life (en español). It’s a great model that focuses on the Five Marks of Mission…

  • Proclaim the Good News of the Kingdom
  • Teach, baptize and nurture new believers
  • Respond to human need by loving service
  • Transform unjust structures of society, challenge violence of every kind and pursue peace and reconciliation
  • Strive to safeguard the integrity of creation, and sustain and renew the life of the earth

Formation News and Updates

Connection. Dialogue. Practice.

This time, we are excited to welcome Bonnie Walton to visit with us about Happening.

We meet the first Thursday of every month to gather and get updates on formation opportunities, share what’s working and what’s not, get new ideas for formation, and meet with other formation leaders (lay and clergy) from around the diocese!

(Offered in English and Spanish)

First Thursday of each month, 12-1pm CST

CST

Congregational Care Certificate

All Lay Leaders interested in ministry around spiritual care and comfort, chronic illness, mental health, grief and loss, or addiction and recovery.

The people in our congregations and communities carry heavy loads—mental health struggles, grief and loss, chronic illness, and the long road of addiction and recovery. Caring well for them can feel daunting, and many leaders and everyday disciples quietly worry about saying the wrong thing or simply feel unequipped.

The Congregational Care Certificate gathers Faith+Lead’s “God and…” courses into a single learning path that pairs sound theology with practical, real-world skills. Across these courses, you’ll explore how God is present in suffering, set aside the urge to “fix,” and grow in the listening, compassion, and grounded presence that help both you and your community offer faithful care. You’ll finish more confident, more grounded, and better prepared to walk alongside the people God has placed in your care.
