Confirmation is not fast-food formation but a process of slow digestion in community with one another.

Updated: My Faith, My Life (Youth, Young Adults)
My Faith, My Life is a trusted confirmation curriculum for the Episcopal Church.
The Five Marks of Mission and what it means to be a disciple of Christ will be a focus of this updated version, which also models student-centered learning as opposed to teacher-driven instruction. For teen study and confirmation preparation, this book can serve as a curriculum for helping teens discover Scripture, church history, sacraments, the meaning and practice of prayer, and what ministry means in the lives of real teens today. A framework for small-group gatherings for each chapter is included as a new section in the back of the book. Leader Guide available here.

This updated and revised edition incorporates new initiatives and changes in the Episcopal Church, including marriage, inclusion of LBGTQ+ persons, Presiding Bishop Michael Curry’s call to join the Jesus Movement, and taking our faith out into the world. A Leader Guide is included in this revised edition in addition to the “transformation questions” that follow each chapter.
Easy to read but with substance for newcomers, adult formation groups, and lifelong Episcopalians, this book is for all who desire to know more about the Episcopal Church.

I Will, with God’s Help (Youth, Adults, Mentoring)
This confirmation program offers a Leader’s Guide, a Mentor’s Guide, an Adult Journal, and a Youth Journal. It was developed with the help of Episcopal educators, clergy and theologians across the country, and it encourages youth and adults to enter into a uniquely Episcopal—yet profoundly Christian—faith journey. The easily-adapted format works for a traditional six- to twelve-week program, at a contemporary Confirmation retreat or conference, or as a sacramental supplement to other two- to three-year programs. I Will, with God’s help, built entirely on the Baptismal Covenant from The Book of Common Prayer, offers seekers a solid reflection on Episcopal heritage and belief, together with the riches of Episcopal liturgy and prayer.

A People Called Episcopalians (Emerging Adults, Adults)
A straightforward, easy-to-understand introduction to the Episcopal Church.
What are we as Episcopalians? This concise booklet explores five main areas of Episcopal life: identity, authority, spirituality, temperament, and polity. A great introduction to the Episcopal way of thinking in readable prose for any newcomer or seeker in the Episcopal Church who may wonder what makes Episcopalians different than Roman Catholics or other protestants.

Walk in Love (Emerging Adults, Adults)
Available in Spanish. Take a journey through The Book of Common Prayer, the Christian life, and basic beliefs of our faith, guided by two Episcopal priests – Scott Gunn and Melody Wilson Shobe.
Use in combination with Practicing Our Faith (FREE downloadable guide).
Walk through the liturgical year, the sacraments of the church, habits of daily prayer, and the teachings of Anglican Christianity. See how our prayer shapes our belief and our lives and how our beliefs lead us into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ.

New Confirm Not Conform (Youth)
When St. John’s in Oakland realized their traditional Confirmation program wasn’t resonating with their youth, the rector and youth minister embarked on a mission to create something more engaging and meaningful. The result was what would later evolve into the broader “Confirm Not Conform” program. Understanding that most traditional Confirmation programs fail to engage youth, Confirm Not Conform addresses the developmental need of adolescents to forge their own identities. It moves away from the concept of “confirmation as conformity” and instead fosters a genuine, inside-out relationship with God and the church. By focusing on respect and empowerment, the program transforms the Confirmation process into a meaningful journey.
