The service for Ash Wednesday in the Book of Common Prayer includes these words…”Dear People of God….I invite you, therefore, in the name of the Church, to the observance of a holy Lent, by self-examination and repentance; by prayer, fasting, and self-denial; and by reading and meditating on God’s holy Word. And, to make a right beginning of repentance, and as a mark of our mortal nature, let us now kneel before the Lord, our maker and redeemer.”
It’s a powerful invitation to an important season. As you prepare for observe the season of Lent, we wanted to share some “tracks” or series of classes to guide you through this time of penitence and reflection.
Confirmation/Affirmation/Formation: The season of Lent is traditionally a time for confirmands to study and prepare for the sacrament of confirmation, which is often offered on Holy Saturday.
Our series, Walk in Love, is a wonderful guide for this journey. The courses provide a comprehensive look at sacramental life, Christian beliefs, and how we live as faithful followers of Christ.
